my story

This was my first of many faith-based tattoos that I have acquired over the years. I decided on this specific tattoo because of how much the Catholic religion had shaped my life.

I was born, raised, and put through school in the Catholic Church. These days I don’t really claim a certain denomination because I feel like that the more we call ourselves this Christian or that Christian, the more we segregate ourselves from one another.

The reason I chose to have it written in Aramaic is because that’s what historians believe was the most commonly used language in the time of Jesus and because it (the Aramaic language) was all over the walls at the Catholic school/church I attended growing up. It is also the prayer I most love and think of when I reminisce about going to Catholic Church services with my family
